Do you like old horror comics? If you do then The Horrors Of It All is a blog for you. Endless pages of terrifying tales and blood-chilling yarns. I really like those pre-comics code stories from late 1940's and early 1950's (ok, some of that 70's stuff is pretty good too). It is really amazing that all those fabulous groundbreaking EC-comics (like Tales from the Crypt, Haunt of Fear, Vault of Horror, Weird Science, Shock Suspenstories etc.) were and are just the tip of the iceberg...
...there were many other titles in the field of horror-comics and now all we lucky boys and ghouls are blessed enough to enjoy these brilliant treasures from ancient tombs.
The Horrors Of It All
NOTE! First horror-comic book...
"Eerie is a one-shot horror comic book cover-dated January 1947 and published by Avon Periodicals as Eerie #1. Its creative team includes (among others) Joe Kubert and Fred Kida.
The book's contents comprise six full-length horror feature stories and
a 2-page humorous tale. The title went dormant for a number of years
but returned to newsstands as Eerie #1 in 1951. The book holds
the distinction of being the first true, stand-alone horror comic book
and is credited with establishing the horror comics genre."
